Fleurish Psychotherapy & Wellness - Jenna Wood

*Caseload is now OPEN to new clients, returning from maternity leave on March 3rd.

As a first-time mom living in the beauty and challenges of parenthood, I have witnessed first-hand just how little support is accessible to new parents in the postpartum period. From early on, I had to advocate for my son and myself through many difficult situations. Caring for a colicky newborn, while navigating the changes that come with the transition to motherhood, I found myself experiencing postpartum depression and anxiety. As I continue to work on healing myself and cultivating my wellness, I am deeply passionate about and committed to helping other parents do the same. I firmly believe we are all worthy of prioritizing ourselves and holding ourselves with compassion through this transformative and anxious period. As your therapist, it is my job to guide you toward a compassionate understanding of yourself.

I have specialized training in perinatal mental health and continue to focus on my professional development to stay up-to-date to provide adequate support to parents in pregnancy, postpartum and parenthood.

Another area I am deeply passionate about is supporting youth and young adult women with anxiety and ADHD. It was during my very first year in practice that I learned of my own ADHD. Now as a mom, I am getting to know this new version of myself and learning how to manage the great mental and physical load that comes with parenthood AND being neurodivergent.

Outside the office, you can typically find me cozy at home with my husband, our son, and our dog Petey, enjoying a warm cup of coffee, reading, and getting outside for long walks and family adventures.

My Approach

I believe in developing genuine and trusting relationships that are built on authenticity, safety, and collaboration. My approach is exploratory and experiential.

I view therapy and healing as an ever-evolving and self-reflective process. Healing is non-linear and is not governed by a "quick-fix" approach. You are not broken, you do not need to be “fixed”. Through a somatic approach, I will encourage you to get to know the aspects of yourself that are often hidden, pushed aside or ignored. My job is to help you hold your emotions and thoughts with compassion and curiosity. Together we will explore the patterns that keep you stuck and with a greater awareness of Self, you can learn to speak kindly to yourself and lean into what it means to be authentically you.

My practice is heavily rooted in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as nervous system-based approaches that integrate the mind and body, including Somatic Parts WorkPolyvagal Theory and BrainspottingRegardless of therapeutic modality, my approach is trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, client-centred, and holistic.
